The Receipts

Follow The Money. Read The Receipts

The Working Families Party presents itself as a grassroots movement powered by working people.

But public records show the broader Working Families ecosystem is connected to some of the most powerful institutions, foundations, political organizations, and technology billionaires in America.

Hypocrisy?

The question isn't whether these individuals and organizations have a right to participate in politics.

The question is whether a group that constantly attacks "dark money" and billionaire influence should be held to the same standards it demands of everyone else.

it raises an important question

If the Working Families Party believes voters deserve complete transparency about who funds political organizations, shouldn’t that standard apply equally to funding that flows through donor-advised fund networks?

You do the math

This website doesn't ask visitors to take a side.

We simply ask them to review the records, follow the money, and decide for themselves whether the standards WFP demands of others are the same standards it applies to itself.

Transparency shouldn't depend on whose side you're on.

WFP Hypocrisy

They talk like Bernie Sanders and spend like Goldman Sachs.

The reality is that many of the organizations criticizing business influence in politics are themselves supported by a funding network backed by some of the wealthiest people in America – including Silicon Valley billionaires. Through donor-advised funds, that money can be routed through organizations like Tides before reaching political and advocacy groups.

WFP applies an unequal standard to Democratic candidates: if they support your campaign, this money is pure. If they oppose a Democrat, this kind of money is attacked.
